The math
9:16 is 0.56:1: the width is 9/16 times the height. To get a height from a width, multiply by 16 and divide by 9 — 1080 × 16 ÷ 9 = 1920. That is the 1080×1920 in the table. The calculator above does the same for any width or height, and gives the ratio of any size in the other mode.
