About Toolz
Most everyday tasks — formatting some JSON, converting a color, decoding a JWT — shouldn't require an account, an app install, or trusting a stranger's server with your data. Toolz makes those small jobs instant and safe: pick a tool, use it, done.
Why Toolz?
Everything runs in your browser. Every tool is plain client-side JavaScript. There is no server call to make, so there is no upload step, no processing queue, and nothing to wait for.
Your data never leaves your device. The files and text you paste into a tool are read and transformed locally, on your own machine. They are never sent to a server, and we never see them — see the privacy page for the details.
It's fast. With no round-trip to a backend, tools respond as fast as your browser can compute — usually instantly, even on large inputs.
No account, no sign-up. Open a tool and use it. There is nothing to create, verify, or log into.
Free, and built to stay simple. Every tool is a single page that does one thing well. The catalog grows as tools are built; the homepage always lists everything that is ready.
What's on the site
Toolz currently has 30 tools, grouped by who reaches for them:
- Developers (12 tools) — Format JSON, decode a JWT, test a regex, convert a timestamp — the small jobs that interrupt a working day, done instantly and without uploading anything.
- Designers (13 tools) — Turn a brand color into a full scale, find its harmonies, build a gradient, derive a dark theme and check every pairing against WCAG — no app to open.
- Writers (5 tools) — Count words against a limit, fix the casing of a headline, preview Markdown as it will render, compare two drafts line by line.
- Images (5 tools) — Convert a picture between PNG, JPEG and WebP, shrink one that is too heavy to send, work out the dimensions a ratio needs — all done by your own browser.
- Security & privacy (5 tools) — Generate a strong password, hash a file checksum, inspect a JWT, produce random identifiers — all computed locally, so the sensitive part never leaves your machine.
