Writing and editing tools, free and private
Count words against a limit, fix the casing of a headline, preview Markdown as it will render, compare two drafts line by line.
Your draft is not sample data
Most online word counters and case converters are ad-supported pages that post whatever you paste to a server. For an unpublished article, a client deliverable, or anything under embargo, that is a real problem and an easy one to avoid. These tools never transmit your text β it is read and transformed inside your own browser, so a first draft stays as private as the file it came from.
Writing to a limit
A lot of writing is writing to a number: a 60-character title, a 155-character meta description, a 500-word column, an abstract that must not exceed 250. The word counter gives words, characters, sentences and paragraphs together and updates as you type, so trimming to fit is something you can see happening rather than something you check at the end. The case converter handles the mechanical part of headlines β title case, sentence case, upper and lower β including the ones that are tedious to fix by hand.
Markdown and revisions
The Markdown previewer renders as you type, which is the fastest way to catch a broken link or a list that did not become a list before you publish. The diff checker compares two versions of a passage and highlights exactly what changed β useful for reviewing an edit someone returned to you, or for confirming that a requested change is the only change that was made.
