snake_case to PascalCase examples
| snake_case | PascalCase | Copy |
|---|---|---|
| user_id | UserId | |

| line_item | LineItem | |
| http_client | HttpClient | |

Every row converts back to snake_case unchanged: none of them has an acronym in capitals or a digit after a separator for the round trip to lose.
Where you convert snake_case to PascalCase
Generators going the other way: protoc-gen-go turns a user_id field of a .proto message into a UserId field of the Go struct, and Rails’ camelize turns admin_users into AdminUsers. Both apply the same mechanical rule as this converter, which is why Go’s own style — UserID, with the acronym in capitals — cannot come out of any of them: nothing in user_id says that id is an acronym.
How the conversion works
The converter first reads user_profile_v2 as the words user / profile / v2 — splitting on spaces, underscores and hyphens, before every capital that follows a lowercase letter or a digit, and before the last capital of a run that starts a new word (HTTPResponse is HTTP / Response). Then it capitalises the first letter of every word and joins them with no separator: UserProfileV2. Since it starts from the words and not from the snake_case spelling, text already in any other case gives the same result.
